This week I began to build my very own video game on unity. From this I started to do some research to find the basics of how I will first begin.
The first I began with was creating my background as it'll be used throughout the whole game. I went onto YouTube and found many tutorials on how to begin this process, I also went back through my old blog posts to find links that I had left on my blog that had I found previously when doing my initial research from when I first started brainstorming for this game.
Ive decided each week I will take it step by step in this process so I don't overwhelm myself. So this week I started on the making a terrain which is the background that the player will be seeing. By doing this I used the tutorial here is the link , this brought me through step by step which was very helpful as I am awful at this sort of thing.
When doing this it made me feel excited as I felt as if my game 'vision' was finally coming to life. Next I will be looking at how to create my character and possibly the monster.
thanks for reading

Hey Mia! I just read your Game Design Document before I came here to look at how you got on with your prototype. I think you're off to a great start, the world your game is set in looks so much more advanced than mine does! I read that the aim of your game is for your character to escape the monster it is being chased by and was just wondering if you will include any power ups that the player will be able to collect so that there speed will increase? I think it could be a great addition. I also wondered if as the level goes on will the difficulty increase? Maybe more obstacles could come in the players way with even less notice than before. It reminds me of a grown up Subway Surfers and I loved that game so hopefully will get to play it! Good luck making the rest of the game and with the rest of the semester.
